River Trent, Beeston, Nottinghamshire...

Some very good fast water fishing quite close to Nottingham. Noted for the very big Barbel and chub this water is very popular with “big fish” anglers although the bottom end of the stretch can also be fished with a stick float for roach and dace. Approx just over 1 mile in length there is decent access at both ends however some walking is inevitable. Day tickets are available on the bank.

How to get there...

From the A6005 University Boulevard, continue into Queen’s Road, Beeston. Turn left at the traffic lights signposted Beeston Station. Go over the Bridge and continue along Meadow Road until you get to the Bridge over the canal. For the Weir turn right and continue along canalside. Parking is near the locks.

Walk over the bridge at the lock to the river. For the bottom end of the stretch, Go over the hump back bridge at bottom of Meadow Road and turn left along track to entrance to Rugby Club on the right. Parking is in the Rugby Club car park. Under no circumstances must cars be driven down to the river.
